Who will be the king?
There was a king in a kingdom. One day the king died suddenly. He had no sons or daughters. On hearing the news of the king's death, the queen became so sad that she died within a short time. A dispute arose between the ministers and the subjects—who will be the king? If there is no king, the kingdom will not run. Whoever can, will kill; whoever can, will plunder. How can people live in an anarchic kingdom? From there it was decided that the subjects would all come together and elect someone to be the king, and a crown would be tied on his head.
Hearing a story, many people came forward to be chosen! Some gave money, some showed sticks and sticks, and some went and quietly taught the people various things. When so many people came forward to be the king, the pious people considered it a mistake. They thought that if the king was chosen in this way, the kingdom would not exist. They decided that without choosing any one, the ascetic Babaji who was in that kingdom should be asked. Whoever he said would be the king. Everyone said ‘yes.’
Hearing this, Babaji became very worried. He thought that it would be better to have the same king whom everyone would like. It is not right for a person to be the king of all. But he decided on a way in which a good person would be chosen. Babaji had a good garden. There were several trees in that garden that bore good fruit. Babaji did not leave anyone to pick the fruit from that tree, but everyone wanted to eat the fruit. Once, someone ate the half-hidden fruit, and Babaji cursed them, and their wrists and legs were broken. Out of that fear, no one else went near that tree. Babaji said that the whole kingdom should come to his garden. Everyone should come to eat the fruit from the tree. After eating the fruit, everyone would gather near Babaji. The king would be chosen. Hearing this, everyone ran to the garden. Whatever the matter, the king was chosen.
People gathered to eat the fruit first. In their greed for food, they lost their love for the tree. After some time, the beautiful fruit tree became a dead branch. Then everyone gathered near Babaji. Babaji asked everyone, “Who would be better off if he got married?” Three names came out from the people. Then they asked each one about the fruit from the tree.
It was found that one of the three people had eaten a lot of fruit by pushing many others. Another could not go near the tree due to fear of being pushed and could not eat the fruit. When the third saw that some people were going to destroy the tree, he pushed them away and made them go to the back. Some wicked people had even beaten him for Seth.
After hearing this, Babaji asked everyone, "Who will be the king, the one who destroys the property of others when he gets an opportunity, or the one who does not go wrong even when others are being destroyed, or the one who gets beaten himself to protect the property of others?" Everyone who had something in their hearts shouted, "The one who gets beaten to protect each other is the only one who is fit to be the king." Then the third one was chosen as the king. From that day on, the kingdom was governed according to the law.
